We just stumbled upon a free puzzle game for the the BlackBerry Storm called Lights Out. The goal of the game is to turn off the lights by clicking on them. When you click on a light to toggle it, it also toggles the lights next to it vertically and horizontally. The video below gives you a pretty good idea of what you are in for.
There is s free Solitaire game for the BlackBerry Storm floating around called Solytare and, although it isn’t the prettiest Solitare game out there, it isn’t half bad once you start playing it.
Rumor has it that Solytare runs well on the BlackBerry Curve 8900 in as well, so, if you have a BlackBerry Storm or a BlackBerry 8900, check Solytare out.
You can get Solytare OTA from wap.GetJar.com. Once there click on Quick Download and enter in code 6593.
Josep over at miBlackBerry has found a Tetris like game for the BlackBerry Storm named Tiltris that uses the accelorometer to move the falling pieces left and right. Not only is Tiltris a game speficially developed for the BlackBerry Storm, one of four that we know of at the time of this posting, it is the first free BlackBerry Storm game to our knowledge.
The object of Tiltris is the same as Tetris. To get the blocks to move left or right you simply tilt your BlackBerry Storm in the direction that you want it to move. If you want the block to flip left or right you swipe over it as it is falling in the direction that you would like its orientation to change.
Tiltris runs on both the BlackBerry 9500 and 9530. I’ve loaded it on a BlackBerry 9530 running OS 4.7.0.86. Tiltris appears to run smoothly after 10 minutes of playing with it, however, it is pretty light when it comes to features. Remember however, it is a free BlackBerry game, and worth the 30 seconds it will take you to download it.
You can download Tiltris directly to your BlackBerry Storm OTA by pointing your browser to http://wap.GetJar.com, selecting Quick Download, and entering in code 40256 51216.
If you you are BlackBerry Storm user and you decide to give Tiltris a go, come back, leave us a comment, and tell us what you think.
There is a new strategy / puzzle type game out for the BlackBerry and BlackBerry Storm from Toysoft Development, Inc. named TapOMania that kind of reminds of Chuzzle except you only need to get two or more blocks of a pattern in a row instead of three or more.
The goal is to try to remove all of the blocks from the screen or, at least enough of them to continue on to the next level. Trust me, it is more challenging than it looks.
There are two versions of TapOMania… One specficially for the BlackBerry Storm and one for most other BlackBerry devices. TapOMania will set you back $3.95 for the Storm or $1.99 for other BlackBerry devices through January 30 after which the price goes up to $4.95 for the Storm and $5.95 for other devices.
You can get a 10 day free trial as well. Check TapOMania out over at the BerryRevew store…

So, I’ve been playing Marble Trap from Nickel Buddy for the passed few days and as the second game that I know of that makes use of the BlackBerry Storms accelorometer, it’s not bad… Not bad at all.
The first thing that you should note about Marble Trap is that it is a puzzel game, not an arcade game. You don’t just try to roll the marble towards the hole and balance it in. You actually have to figure out how line the marble up with the hole from its resting spot by making several moves around the board.
Marble Trap is a game of logic. To play the game, you will move the marble up, down, left or right, and the marble rolls until it hits something or rolls off the board. This game is a test of your thinking skills, not your reaction speed.
Mobile Trap will set you back $9.95, however, there is a free trial for you to try out. You can check it out here…

I am going to paraphrase several dozen emails that I’ve gotten over the last couple of weeks.
Do you know of any games specifically designed for the BlackBerry Storm?.
Although there may be others, the only one that I know of is the lastest verison of Nintaii. I think that, once they start coming out, you will see some really nice BlackBerry Storm games, so, what I would like to do is start a list of all BlackBerry Storm games so if you know of any, please list them here in the comments.
To be clear, we aren’t talking about any game that will run on the BlackBerry Storm, but, games that were specicially designed for the BlackBerry Storm.

We talked about Nintaii right before it won best game in the BlackBerry Partner’s Fund Developer Challenge. There is a new version out and it takes advantage of the BlackBerry Storms accelerometer.
I can’t wait to see what other types of games start coming out for the the Storm…
