BlackBerry 7130c

Have you ever noticed that right before a new BlackBerry comes out third party resellers like Amazon, 1ShopWireless, Buy.com, etc. seem to discount there stock of older BlackBerry models? It happens so often that we’ve created a category here on RIMarkable called Free BlackBerry just to list all the deals that we come across.

Well, it appears that the ante has been upped. Not only are there a bunch of free BlackBerry offers going on right now, several resellers are actually paying you to take their excess inventory out of their warehouses.

I was looking through BlackBerry Forums and I came upon a thread started by forum member pimp7100i claiming that the BlackBerry 7130c is “no where to be found” on Cingular’s website. I thought that this was kind of odd seeing how the BlackBerry 7130c is a fairly new device so I headed on over to Cingular’s site and did a search.

Well, it looks like pimp7100i is right. Although results for the 7130c are found when you search, none of them, at least the top 4 or 5, take you to a 7130c page.

Now that the BlackBerry 7130c is available from Cingular, T-Mobile users that just have to have the latest and greatest devices will wait about 4 days for the T-Mobile 7130g to be announced before they start buying 7130cs at full price and popping their T-Mobile SIM cards into them trying to get them to work on their network.

We haven’t heard the term “period of exclusivity” surrounding the launch of the BlackBerry 7130c and seeing how Sprint and Verizon in addition to Cingular have their 7130 models out we hope that it won’t be long before we see the BlackBerry 7130g from T-Mobile.

Cingular and Research in Motion today announced the availability of the BlackBerry 7130c. We knew that the BlackBerry 7130c was coming but we thought that it would be a bit closer to the Cingular launch parties that start next week.

Cingular has also announced their new BlackBerry Personal Plan that offers unlimited BlackBerry Internet Service access for $29.99 per month. The BlackBerry Personal Plan doesn’t , however, allow access to BlackBerry Enterprise Service. Subscribers will only be able to get their Internet email with the new plan.

Just the other day we asked the question “will RIM and Cingular launch the BlackBerry 7130c on June 13th?” Well, it looks like Cingular is making some big changes to it’s BlackBerry services the day before.

BlackBerry Forums member jdjleo, a Cingular employee, says that he got this exciting news this morning…

**LAUNCHES 6/12**

Cingular Launches New Blackberry Personal Unlimited Data Plans and Software Enhancements This is the launch announcement for the new BIS 2.0 Software Enhancements and Blackberry Personal Unlimited Data Rate Plans.
(Mon, June 05, 2006)
Issue/Volume number:
Available exclusively from Cingular, the new BlackBerry Personal Unlimited data rate plan is the preferred rate plan for BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) v2.0* users wanting wireless access to Internet email.

This plan offers unlimited email, HTML browsing and MEdiaNet usage for just $29.99 a month when activated with a voice plan or just $34.99 stand alone.

The target segments for the BlackBerry Personal Unlimited data rate plan are:
Multitasking working Moms
Young professionals/ladder climbers
Small business/sole proprietors

* BIS v2.0 is the easy-to-use wireless email solution that can be activated with every BlackBerry data rate plan. To understand the customer benefits of BIS v2.0, refer to the 6/12/2006 BIS v2.0 Sales Brief

Nowhere in this brief does it say anything about the release of the BlackBerry 7130c, however, earlier this morning Russell Shaw from BBHub said that he thought that the Cingular BlackBerry 7130c would be announced on June 12th. I think he might be right..

Cingular and Research in Motion are holding 6 launch events in 6 different cities across the U.S. where Cingular will unveil their latest BlackBerry device that we believe is the BlackBerry 7130c.

The invitation doesn’t actually say that the BlackBerry 7130c is the device being unveiled, however, the 7130c is the only new BlackBerry device from Cingular that we know of to have pictures all over web.

The first Blackberry 7130c launch event will be held June 13th in Houston and you can register for it or one of the other 5 events here.

About a month ago we put up a few live BlackBerry 7130c pictures. Recently the FCC’s Office of Engineering and Technology has posted what look like graphic renderings of the 7130c and, as I’ve said before, this is one slick looking BlackBerry device. The FCC site also has internal images of the BlackBerry 7130c and I will get those, as well, as more external pictures up in shortly.

I love my BlackBerry 7130e, however, if Verizon offered this design as on option, I would switch over to it in a heartbeat. I will go on record and say that I think that this is the best looking BlackBerry design to date.
