We just got word that YouMail Visual VoiceMail for BlackBerry has been updated to version 2.1.0.1 and includes the following new features:
- Better speed and reliability, with new status indicators that tell the user the precise status of their connectivity and data transmission.
- Improvements to YouMail’s already one-of-a-kind voice-to-text service designed to save users time and better inform them of data transcription status. YouMail is also offering a free trial of YouMail’s human-edited transcriptions.
- Bug fixes that allow for better interactivity with other apps, like DexRex, and improve the overall stability of the application, as well as improved functionality of services for YouMail premium subscribers and voice mail transcription.

We just heard that VyMail, the free visual voicemail client for the BlackBerry that works with YouMail, just got an update.
VyMail is up to version 0.8.3.5 and it isn’t even funny at how much better this beta software works as compared to the actual released Visual Voicemail Plus from YouMail that is complete piece of crap to put it mildly.

YouMail put out a press release this morning introducing Visual VoiceMail Plus, a free visual voicemail application for BlackBerry devices running BlackBerry OS 4.3 or higher. Pretty much every BlackBerry Device since the BlackBerry Pearl.

So, I am up catching up on all the BlackBerry news from the past 12 hours or so and just happened upon this post over at BerryReview.com where they are talking about a free visual voicemail client for YouMail called VyMail. I am always interested in a free stuff so I decided to check it out.
After about 10 minutes of playing with VyMail, I can tell you that there is absolutely no reason to pay for Verizon’s Visual VoiceMail if you are a BlackBerry Storm user and all other BlackBerry users should be taking a look at this as well simply because it is one of the coolest free BlackBerry applications that I have seen in some time.
