The day that many of us have been waiting for, and some, quite honestly, have been cursing, is finally here. We have pictures of the CameraBerry and as Russell Shaw from BBHub predicted, it will be called the BlackBerry 8100.
The new BlackBerry 8100 series cameraphones which i belielve will become the hottest selling BlackBerrys among consumer oriented gadget freaks will have a microSD slot and multimedia playback in addition to the integrated digital camera that we hope is at least 2.0 megapixels.
Endgaget has a bunch of BlackBerry 8100 Pictures that we have reposted on the next page.
It’s interesting to compare reality with the rumors first posted a few weeks ago from a source calling himself, I believe, “Dawg.”
The major thrust of what Dawg wrote was true: a BB with camera and music player, noticably thinner than other models.
However, the details were wrong: Dawg stated the device had a full QWERTY keyboard; this one does not and uses the suretype system. Dawg compared the unit in size to an iPod nano; this one is much larger than that device, probably more akin to the SLVR in size.
Dawg also stated that the device had a camera superior to his Samsung digicam; of course we don’t know at this point whether this is true or not, but on the other major points it appears that Dawg in his enthusiasm exaggerated things a bit. I don’t say this as criticism of Dawg, only in analysis.
What’s the lesson to be learned? That with regards to rumors, they are more likely to be true on the vague, larger points rather than in the details.
What is that icon with that looks like a girl (cartoon like character) with the headset on?
Also what does the arrow to the left of the end key do?
What carrier is it on? The device has T-Mobile printed on it but has Cinglar diplayed on the screen? So, which is it?
