It looks like T-Mobile has actually released the Wi-Fi enabled BlackBerry Pearl 8120. This isn’t exactly ground breaking BlackBerry news as you can already get the 8120 on AT&T, however, T-Mobile did miss their initial launch date for the BlackBerry Pearl 8120 by over a month, so, many T-Mobile subscribers have been waiting for this.
What is really cool about the T-Mobile version of the BlackBerry Pearl 8120 is that you can use its Wi-Fi capability to connect to HotSpot@Home, T-Mobile’s UMA technology that allows users to make unlimited calls over the internet for an additional $10 per month. This could come in handy for those BlackBerry users that make a lot of calls from home or places where Wi-Fi is readily available while keeping your monthly costs down.
The T-Mobile BlackBerry Pearl 8120 sells for $350, offers an instant $150 rebate with various monthly plans.
Yet they still don’t have 3G out there. It has to be killing them on the corporate side. They easily have the best customer service, decent selection of phones, and aggressive rate plans, yet hold back new customers because of the lack in the 3G area.
This phone would be the solution to all communication if the network had 3G. The wifi helps in areas where phone reception isn’t available, like indoors in a large building (if you subscribe to the plan). Nice phone, network needs 3G.
