Sprint, the third largest wireless carrier in the United States, has decided to take pass on the new BlackBerry Z10.
Sprint spokesman, Mark Elliott, says the company will wait on the BlackBerry Q10 which sports a physical qwerty keyboard in addition to a smaller touchscreen.
“We aren’t saying there’s anything different about our customers,” Elliott said. “We think our customers will be happy with the qwerty keyboard and touch screen on the Q10.”
BlackBerry CEO, Thorsten Heins, believes that touchscreen BlackBerry devices will outsell keyboard models by three to one, so, one has to wonder if Sprint’s passing on the the 4.2 inch Z10 has anything to do with the company’s deal with Apple to sell iPhones.

It has everything to do with Apple. When you lie in bed with dog’s you’re gonna end up getting fleas. What is the Mighty Apple so afraid of anyway’s that they would possibly put a clause in there contract with Sprint that would limit the amount of all full touch screen devices sold? I’ve been with Sprint for a long time now and maybe this is the time I move on. Shame on Sprint for being Punked by Apple in order to sale the iPhone.
Sprint needs there pull there heads out of there behinds and realize that diversity in the market is needed. Shameful sprint , just shameful!
Well said. Its extremely shameful and disappointing. I will be making the switch very soon.
Maybe it has to do with a sign of the times. BB only has 3% of the market share. Why should a company invest time money and effort to carry a device that most will end up collecting dust.
I said it before and I will say it again, in its hay day bb was awsome but they did not keep up with the market changes so what happened, people jumped ship and went to apple and android.
I think their decision is mearly a business decision as to not invest in a product that is not currently selling.
