Sprint BlackBerry Pearl 8130

September 11, 2007 by Robb Dunewood 10 Comments

Look at what is coming out in Q4. I know that everyone that cares already knew that Sprint will be getting the BlackBerry Pearl around Thanksgiving, however, it is still nice to see something that looks official.

Verzion’s mode of operation is to “make sure” that no knows that their Blackberry 8130 is coming out in the October / November timeframe until it comes out in the October / November time frame.

I just want a TMO 8310 to use with WiFi@Home. Does anyone know when TMO will get one?

I agree with Robb…it seems that it’s always Sprint that leaks these details re new CDMA releases, but then it’s really Verizon that releases the item first. I honestly cannot imagine any circumstance where RIM releases a new BB on Sprint before Verizon.

sprint always in the past has gotten palm devices to it’s customers before verizon. I can see Sprint doing the same with it’s release of the new BB’s. Also remember now that sprint has former nextel BB customers mouths to fill as well. sprint just might also have the upper hand on verizon when it comes to RIM and BB’s. To say nothing about sprint NOT finding the need to cripple, remove features, functions and adjust UI’s on every phone they sell.

Is it me or does it say the release date is 4Q07, when I speak financially I tend to refer to quarters in the FISCAL sense. Therefore, since FY07 is over on 1 October and FY08 starts, its safe to assume that the Pearl will be out before 1 October. However, if they, and when I say they, I’m referring to Sprint, are claiming Q4 to be the last three months of the Gregorian calendar and not the FISCAL reference year, then it’s safe to assume a product launch around Thanksgiving. Help me
