Research in Motion has announced today that they are going to sell a heck of a lot more BlackBerrys this quarter then the previously thought. Initial estimates projected 1.82 million net new BlackBerry subscribers, however, RIM now expects that number to be 15-20% higher.
15-20% amounts to 273,000 to 364,000 more BlackBerry subscribers then RIM expected. That’s not to bad when they were expecting to have a bit of a down quarter.
It’s a great sales quarter but RIM needs to beef up its infrastructure to cope with all of the new traffic through its servers. And with sales like these, there is no reason why RIM does not have the money to do so.
Great news for investors!
