Research in Motion has yet to release a 3G BlackBerry, however, when they do they will be covered as far as InterDigital Inc. is concerned. The two companies have extended a patent license agreement through 2012.
“This 3G patent license with RIM is another validation of the strength of our global licensing program,” InterDigital chief executive William Merritt said in a statement.
The first 3G BlackBerry has been rumored to in development and should appear the first half of next year on Telstra.
