Not only does BlackBerry maker Research in Motion have an ongoing patent dispute  settlement case going  in the United States with wireless email technology patent holder NTP, they are trying to fend off a German lawsuite against T-Mobile.

Research In Motion Ltd. won the right to fast-track a challenge to a U.K. patent to protect sales of its BlackBerry e-mail pager in Europe, a week after the company said a settlement of a similar claim in the U.S. may be unraveling.

Basically this means that the court has granted RIM’s request to hear the case before the end of the year.  RIM is trying to head off any decline in sales because of uncertainty over the infringement claim.
