I just read a PC World Survey of the top 5 PDA Phones in their September 2006 issue and, believe it or not, not a single BlackBerry made the list. Unfortunately, I could not find the guidelines by which PC World tests and evaluates PDA Phones, however, I would have to imagine that a significant amount of value is placed on a built-in digital camera as all the devices that made list have one.
I am really having a heard time believing that the SideKick 3 came in at number two.

well, the sidekick does have that sweed magnet which wipes your credit card mangetic strip if they come in contact together. it’s pretty hard to top that feature.
most of this smartphones got pretty much everything, camera, multimedia, and email. blackberry only got email as the strongest point. i dont blame them for not putting bb’s on their top 5.
I agree: the Sidekick is more of a toy for teenagers who love instant messaging. There’s nothing wrong with that…they sell very well, but the Sidekick does not deserve to be so high on the list, and only one point behind the Palm 700p, which is a far more capable device.
As for no BB on the list: I guess the folks at PC World write for the general consumer market, which would explain their emphasis on features like camera, mp3, etc. Apparently, they don’t put much merit in actually using the device as a business tool, rather than as a toy.
Personally, I think that the BB 8700 should have made the list. It not only uses the great BB system, but it has an incredible screen.
