Our pal Steve from BlackBerry Cool has redesigned Cingular’s logo to be more in line with the experiences of Cingular customers trying to buy a BlackBerry Pearl. The crest says it all.
The Cingular BlackBerry Pearl was officially released today, however, you wouldn’t know it based one some of our readers experiences. It seems as though many Cingular employees don’t know it either…
More on my wild goose chase from earlier today.
I went back to the Times Sq store at 3pm, since they said they were getting them in “Supposed to be today”.
They told me when I got there that “they were just getting them in, but there was a waiting list to get them”. When I then told them that I was pretty pissed because I was there 4 hours earlier and no one bothered to tell me about a waiting list, they then told me “We are getting some in on Monday, so we will give you a call if we get them”. Complete and utter incompetence.
I got mine this afternoon in Memphis. The corporate store got in about 5 of them. Setting it up now. Fantastic device.
I picked up my Pearl today from the Cingular store at Connecticut Avenue and L street in Northwest Washington D.C. Sorry everyone else is having a hard time. They seemed to have enough in stock. I saw a lady pick up two of them when I was there.
In the end the quality and style of the device will save Cingular…people will be so impressed, like #2 Thom, that they will forget all of the incompetence of Cingular.
