I would be willing to bet the BlackBerry is the most popular brand to come out of the entire country of Canada so I find it kind of funny when Canadian newspapers who report on the BlackBerry have no idea what a BlackBerry looks like.
I know that pictures of BlackBerry devices can be hard to come by. Heck, there are only 2 or 3 hundred of them here on RIMarkable. Even though the BlackBerry handheld device comes before the fruit when you search for the term BlackBerry on Google Images they can be kind of tricky to identify. I am no expert, however, the following rule should work. If the device says BlackBerry across the front there is a good chance that it is actually BlackBerry. If it says Treo, it is probably not.
