The “Big G” has put out an update to Google Talk for BlackBerry which is now up to version 2.1.33.
As usual, Google doesn’t provide any type of change log or tell you what’s new in the new version. From what we can tell there are a few minor interface changes. Unfortunately, I didn’t take a good look at the old version before installed the new version so, other than telling you that the interface looks a little different, I can’t really tell you what the differences are.
Google Talk is a free Blackberry download and , thus far, I see no reason not to download the new version if you were using the old version. If you do decide to download it, which you can do OTA here, take a look at your current version first and see if you can tell what the changes are once you install 2.1.33.
I think it’s a big improvement!
I can have multiple “status” messages stored…
you can now change your status by scrolling to the top of the main gtalk window and clicking on the header…
chats can be stored on external memory…
the interface looks tweaked… it’s just a small improvement
during a chat there’s a time-stamp at the top showing when the last message was sent or received
the names of the people chatting are different colors…
Very cool…nice improvements. I noticed all above, diving in to see if I can scout out more. Thanks for the heads-up.
Hey, the url you provided is wrong, it points to your wp-admin interface…
yeah, choosing to save chats on or off and then save them on device or external memory seem like pretty neat changes to have.
@Ben P – The custom status by selecting at the top and having them saved is nice. Thanks for pointing that out.
There’s a Group Messages in Chat option, but I don’t know what that does or means.
Actually the client is made by RIM.
For Blackberry customers its an fantastic applications, as more and more organizations are now a days using Gtalk corporate packages. With GMail+ GTalk one can easily review the correspondence in Google mail box, compose new mail messages and operate with address books currently having an amusing communication with your buddies via Google Talk service.
I like it! Bb messenger could do with a seriois makeover though!
