The title of this post pretty much tells you all you need to know. If you want to know more about the news piece of this, click here. The rest of this post basically is about my frustration with the US based wireless providers. [Warning: Rant coming next]
Let me start of by saying that I absolutely love my BlackBerry 7100t for what it is… A pretty good cell phone with push email capabilities. I must admit, however that I really just started using a BlackBerry about 8 or 9 months ago. Before that, and even still, I was a big time Pocket PC user.
You would think that with the popularity of BlackBerry and with the Palm Treo that HP, and Dell, and the other US Pocket PC device manufacturers would jump at the opportunity to add cell phone features and BlackBerry Connect into their devices. Well the device manufacturers would jump at the opportunity if only the wireless service providers would support the technology.
In another post we talked about a survey that said Verizon is the only wireless provider that customers are somewhat loyal to. Well, the rest of the “MegaTelco” companies had better figure out that we tolerate them because they have mobile phones and BlackBerries that we love and cannot get without them, not because we love the company and they just happen to carry a wireless device that we like.
