Facebook For Blackberry version 1.3 Released

November 11, 2008 by Robb Dunewood 13 Comments

Research in Motion has recently released Facebook for BlackBerry Smartphones version 1.3.  There is no change log and I don’t see any major changes, but, I’ve only had the new version installed for about 5 minutes.

Facebook for BlackBerry  is a free BlackBerry download and you can get it by visiting www.blackberry.com/facebook.  If you notice anything different about the new version let us know via the comments.

When I got to http://www.blackberry.com/facebook they offer me version 1.2. Has this officially been released for all Blackberries? I have a PEARL.

Probably it’s a release that fixes some minor issues with the app. If it was an interface change they would release a 2.0 instead.

I upgraded my 8330 through the download option on the mobile Facebook site straight from my BB and it upgraded to 1.3. A few minor differences I have noticed so far but nothing major. Interesting enough, after I upgraded, my internet browsers were switched from ‘Internet Browser’ to ‘Blackberry Browser’ and my Browser home page had been reset.

I am using an 8330 and it is only offering 1.2. Those of you that updated, did you do it OTA or PC download and install?

Trey Luby – I had the same problem as you, but it happened without installing the app. I quit the browser on the download screen for the Facebook app v1.2, and when I opened my browser the next time it had reset my homepage and other settings.

An update to my previous post. I am still unable to get 1.3. I am on a 8330 on Verizon, with Verizon’s release of OS 4.5. Is anyone else having the same issue with Verizon?

I don’t know if this is related, but after installing 1.3 OTA yesterday, my browser service books mysteriously disappeared.

    Also on a 8330 V-Curve.

I’ve seen on some other websites that it has been pulled and now only 1.2 remains.

Will somebody please explain to me why should I do to make my facebook back to normal so I’m able to see my profile and my friends profile either..
