You know how the saying goes… I am just not feeling the new BlackBerry Bold 9650 rumored to be officially announced next week at WES and launched in May. What will the new Bold 9650 do that most other BlackBerry devices with full QWERTY keyboards won’t do? I am sure there is something, but, is it really enough warrant buying another device?
I may pass on the the BlackBerry Bold 9650 just like I passed on the BlackBerry Storm2. What else do you have coming out RIM?
Verizon has officially released OS 5.0.0.591 for the BlackBerry Tour 9630. This update us currently available as a wireless update (OTA) only. We will update this post when a desktop update becomes available…
This probably doesn’t come as too much of a surprise, but, according to BGR, the BlackBerry Bold 9650 will officially be announced next week during WES and go on sale at Verizon May 1st.
How big of a deal do you think the BlackBerry Bold 9650 will be for RIM?
CrackBerry was able to get their hands on an equipment guide that details the features and specifications of the Verizon BlackBerry Bold 9650.
The specs are pretty much what we thought they would be…
- 1xEVDO/3G
- 3.2 Megapixel Camera
- GPRS/UMTS
- GSM Quad Band 850/9001800/1900 mHz
- GSM Dual Band 900/1800 Mhz
- 2.4″ TFT LCD Display, 480×360 65k color support
- Bluetooth
What is really interesting is that it looks like the Bold 9650 will launch on May 27th…
Granted, the NFL season doesn’t start until the end of the summer, however, the NFL draft is less than two weeks away and Verizon has released NFL Mobile to Verizon subscribers.
NFL Mobile on Verizon includes the wildly popular NFL RedZone channel from the NFL Network and live streaming of NBC’s Sunday Night Football and NFL Network’s Thursday Night Football. In addition, fans will receive the NFL Network channel.

If you’ve read more than 2 or 3 posts here on RIMarkable, you’ve probably gathered that I am a pretty big fan of the BlackBerry. Some would even call me a BlackBerry Fanboy… That being said, I recently bought a Palm Pre Plus from Verizon. I’d be willing to bet, however, that it was for reasons other than what you are thinking…
To make a long story short, if you are at all interested in a Verizon MiFi 2200, strongly consider the Palm Pre Plus or Palm Pixi Plus as an alternative…
