JetBlue, the coolest discount airline that I’ve ever flown on, has partnered with Research in Motion and Yahoo to bring you in-flight access to email and instant messaging while in flight.
BetaBlue, which will make its inaugural flight next Tuesday from JFK to San Francisco, will allow passengers who bring their laptops to access lightweight versions of Yahoo email and instant messaging services, however, Wi-Fi enabled BlackBerry users (8820 and 8320) and will be able to access their corporate (BES) and personal (BIS) email via their handhelds.
There is no way to request the first Wi-Fi enabled plane, however, there will be no charge to use the service if you happen to get lucky.

T-Mobile has just posted an update for the BlackBerry Curve 8320 that will bring your OS up to 4.2.2.180.
The update fixes a bug that caused your new BlackBerry Curve to lose Hotspot @Home capability which basically prevented you from making calls or sending messages over Wi-Fi after using the Switch Device Wizard to restore backed up data from your old BlackBerry to your new BlackBerry Curve.
You can download the update by visiting the BlackBerry Upgrade section of T-Mobile’s site.
Here is another reason Apple isn’t going to hurt RIM’s BlackBerry sales anytime in the near future. 100% carrier subsidized BlackBerry Curves. And we’re not talking about the old 8300 models either.
If you want to get your hands on one of the new Wi-Fi enabled T-Mobile BlackBerry Curves and don’t want to shell out a lot of cash, you need to head on over to Amazon where they are offering a Free BlackBerry Curve 8320 with a 2-year activation discount and a mail-in rebate.
Check it out…
I just happened to notice that the Research in Motion press release for the T-Mobile BlackBerry 8320 has finally appeared on their site.
I am not sure what took it so long. I actually watched for it on Monday after the 8320 appeared on T-Mobile’s site. RIM press releases often times appear on their site after they appear in other news outlets but it usually doesn’t take more than a few hours to show up on RIM.com.
Weird… Read the full press release here.
What is the point of having built-in Wi-Fi if your BlackBerry 8320 cannot load pages via its speedy Wi-Fi connection any faster than via its EDGE connection? This is the question that a lot of new BlackBerry Curve owners are asking themselves after picking up the new Wi-Fi enabled BlackBerry Curve (8320) from T-Mobile.
The Boy Genius did a side-by-side comparison of the T-Mobile BlackBerry 8320 running Wi-Fi versus an AT&T BlackBerry 8300 running EDGE and, in most cases, the BlackBerry running EDGE loaded pages faster than the one running Wi-Fi.
That flat out sucks…
I can tell you that the difference between Wi-Fi and EDGE on the iPhone seems like the difference between a dial-up modem and DSL.
I guess that if you look at the bright side the T-Mobile BlackBerry Curve (8320) does have My Faves.
BGR has live shots of the T-Mobile BlackBerry Curve that is supposed to be coming out on September 24th.
I am just not digging that gold color. BGR says, however, that “T-Mobz might be offering a choice of the gold color, and silver/titanium color at launch.”
If that gold BlackBerry Pearl 2 that we saw last week didn’t appear to be branded. We hope, however, that it comes in the silver/titanium color as well.
The word on the street is that the T-Mobile branded BlackBerry Curve 8320 with Wi-Fi will be released next month on the 24th of September.
The 8320 T-Mobile variant of the BlackBerry Curve is pretty much the same as it’s earlier released 8300 cousin. The major difference being the lack of GPS and the addition of Wi-Fi.
There is still no word on when this, almost perfect device, will come out on a CDMA carrier. Many hope, however, that RIM figures out how to cram GPS and Wi-Fi into relatively small form factor for a full QWERTY device by the time that it does.
A Pinstack source is confirming that the BlackBerry 8320 will be hitting T-Mobile shelves sometime in September.
The Second Generation BlackBerry Curve will have 3.2 Megapixel or better camera, Wi-Fi, and won’t feel as cheaply made as it’s AT&T predecessor…

There have been a lot of different BlackBerry features talked about lately, specifically with regards to the 88XX and 83XX devices. One configuration will have Wi-Fi. Another will have GPS. They may even be a units with both Wi-Fi and GPS. My question to you is if you have to go with Wi-Fi or GPS, which one would you choose?
