We don’t know for sure if the BlackBerry Style is headed to AllTel, but, if putting the software that supports the device on your website is an indication that you eventually will, we’d say that the chances are good…

Alltel has just realeased the BlackBerry Curve 8530. It’s only $39.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and the really cool part of this deal is that you only have to sign up to a one-year contract. If you are one of the few still left on Alltel, this is a great deal at a great price.

Even though Verizon completed its acquisition of Alltel back in January, Alltel is still operating in over 90 markets nationwide. If you have happen to be an Alltel subscriber in one of these markets you can now buy a BlackBerry Tour 9630 device for $199 after a $100 mail-in rebate and a 1-year subscription to an Alltel “Smart Choice” plan of $69.99 or more per month.

Contrary to what we thought was going to happen, Alltel, not Verizon, will be the first carrier to offer the CDMA BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 here in the United States. The first CDMA clamshell style flip-phone BlackBerry should be hitting the street in early May and will set you back $79.99 after a $70 mail-in rebate.

We first mentioned this back in June of last year and just a bit over six months later, the Verizon acquisition of Alltel, which makes Verizon the Nation’s largest wireless carrier, is now complete.

Well, it looks like the nation is about to be down to 3 major wireless carriers. Verizon and Alltel have made it official that Verizon will acquire Alltel for $28.1 billion. Verizon will pay about $5.9 and inherit about $22.2 billion in debt.
When all is said and done, I just hope that Verizon keeps the wizard that we see in the Alltel commercials.

According to CNBC, Verizon is in “deep talks” to acquire Alltel, the nations 5th largest wireless carrier for an estimated $27 billion dollars.
TPG and Goldman Sachs took Alltel private last November in a $27.5 billion deal it is not expected that Verizon will pay any more than this even though Alltel has increased its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (Ebitda) by 10 percent since the leveraged buyout was announced last may.
If Verizon pulls an Alltel acquisition off it, once again, will be the nations largest wireless provider. Verizon currently sits in the number two spot behind AT&T by the slimmest of margins and an Alltel deal will definitely put them over the top.

Alltel usually lags a few weeks behind Sprint and Verizon when it comes to releasing their branded version of CDMA BlackBerry devices, however, this time around they plan on getting the goods into their subscribers hands just as, if not more, quickly than everyone else.
Alltel this morning announced that the BlackBerry Curve 8330 will be available in Alltel retail stores beginning May 1st. That is next Thursday for those of you not keeping track.
The Alltel BlackBerry Curve is pretty much just like the one coming out on Sprint, both of which, aren’t nearly as locked down as Verizon’s model.
