PocketDay Start: PocketDay Opens Public Beta For BlackBerry Storm Launcher App

December 8, 2008 by Robb Dunewood 1 Comment

PocketDay has just opened up a BlackBerry Storm beta  of PocketDay Start, a Storm launcher application, to the public.

I downloaded it, played with it for about 5 minutes, then deleted it off my device.  Although PocketDay Start has some potential, it is very Beta.

You can get some of the details on PocketDay Start over at BerryReview and you can download it directly to your BlackBerry Storm at http://www.pocketday.com/files/Beta/pdstart/pdstart.jad.

If you decide to check it out, let us know what you think…

I absolutely love the idea of PocketDay Start! I agree that the app is still VERY beta and I hope to see it developed fully before the trial time runs out on Dec 31. I especially like the idea of the shortcuts for contacts, but the shortcuts do not work. When I press on a number to call nothing happens. The web shortcuts work well. I like the way the app re-orients itself for landscape or portrait viewing, but there seems to be a few stability issues with it. Mainly in Contacts the picture icons of the contacts go back and forth between large and small icons. It would be great to make this a stable choice that the user can make with the size of the icons. I haven’t tried the Applications section yet to see how well that works. All in all, if this app goes from Beta into prime time use, I will be one of the first to purchase it. Please keep up the good work!
