Pandora Updated To v1.1.2 Now With Support For OS 5

November 3, 2009 by Robb Dunewood 4 Comments

The popular BlackBerry internet radio client, Pandora Radio, has been updated to version 1.1.2 and now works on the  BlackBerry Storm and BlackBerry Storm2.

The version on BlackBerry App World hasn’t been updated with the new release, so, if you want to check it out, head over to www.pandora.com directly from your Storm or Storm2  BlackBerry Browser.

I noticed that the volume rocker works to skip songs. This is really annoying in that the volume control should be just for adjusting the volume (I also noticed this on the BB media player and I always hated it). I’m not sure if this is a bug with v1.1.2, but I didn’t have a problem ramping up the volume up & down on the last release. It also looks like they fixed it so you can adjust the volume from outside of Pandora (if it actually didn’t skip the song you wanted to raise/lower the volume on). Feel like to tossing my phone when listening to something I really like & it skips the song cuz I hit the volume rocker. What a rant huh?! lol.

I think the new version is great. I’ve always liked that you can skip songs from Media Player and I think its awesome that they added that to Pandora. There are two ways to ease your pain with that though. One is dont hold down the rocker that long. Just tap it to raise/lower the volume. Another is to go into your Options/Screen/Keyboard menu and at the bottom of the screen you lower your tap interval to 100. That way you have to hold it down a little longer in order for it to skip and it won’t do it to a song you like. I know its about a few hours before you hear it again lol. Hope this helps.

Now if only the Google suite of Apps would recognize OS 5 and download the correct version.
