One Million Consumers Want An iPhone

March 28, 2007 by Robb Dunewood 1 Comment

Steve Jobs isn’t “within 3000 miles” of the CTIA wireless convention going on down in Orlando this week, however, the iPhone, a device not even slated to be released until June, is the “most important topic”, according to Tim Bajarin, principal analyst for Creative Strategies, a Silicon Valley technology-analysis company.

CNBC’s Squawk Box is reporting that over one million consumers have expressed that they want an iPhone as soon as it comes out. No matter how you look at it this is impressive for a first try mobile device that costs well over $500.

There’s no doubt that the iPhone will be the most anticipated release of a cell phone ever. This device is coming out with the kind of buzz reserved for the release of new video game systems. I wonder if there will be lines a the Apple and Cingular stores the night before the device is released. I’m willing to bet there will.
