BlackBerry PlayBook Not Delayed: RIM Issues Statement On Battery Life

December 30, 2010 by Robb Dunewood 2 Comments

All the buzz in the world of BlackBerry over that past couple of days have been about comments Kaufman Brothers analyst Shaw Wu made stating that the BlackBerry PlayBook may be delayed due to battery issues.  Well, Research in Motion has released their own statement, and, to make a long story short, this is simply not true…

Any testing or observation of battery life to date by anyone outside of RIM would have been performed using pre-beta units that were built without power management implemented. RIM is on track with its schedule to optimize the BlackBerry PlayBook’s battery life and looks forward to providing customers with a professional grade tablet that offers superior performance with comparable battery life.

We still don’t have an official release date on the BlackBerry PlayBook, however, it does look like it will be sooner rather than later.
