I have a BB 8300 I bought with ATT when it first came out in May/June. Does anyone know if there is a way to get into a 8310 without having to pay full retail for the phone?

I would love to get the curve, but ATT does not work well in Cleveland!

That makes me so mad. I bought an 8310 about 35 days ago. Would have loved the extra $100 off. I’m sure AT&T won’t do anything about it now.

It’s hard for me to imagine how RIM can come up with a much better design than the 83xx series. It’s just about perfect from a design standpoint. Sure, they can tweak it around the edges, and certainly the software can advance, and they can add 3G, but the overall design is hard to improve upon.

Damn! Cannot get it in Canada either. What a nice little toy! Well, there is always tomorrow. Let’s see what offer they bring next. I am sure this is just the beginning.

Wait, soo.. does it cost $99 without a contract? I’m actually thinking of buying this phone when I go to the States on Friday.

    bluehorseshoe vealot,

at&t is blackberry’s biggest provider, at&t is America’s largest provider, lets just say your typical rant has no bearing on industry reality. 3G on a Blackberry alone doesn’t matter, it doesn’t speed things up all that much since RIM designed the BB for the BB network, which doesn’t need 3G. Maybe when tethering 3G speed might come into play, but then tmo has wifi blackberry’s which are faster than any 3G technology. Remember FACTS before verizon fanboy fiction. Luckly with LTE coming verizon will be able to support the multiple GSM RIM Blackberry’s available, as verizon dump’s cdma and evdo like the closed, proprietary turds they become, as verizon upgrades to standard, open, global GSM, running LTE.

$99 for a Curve with all RIM functions and application’s working as designed is a very, very good price and will sell many many 8310’s. Running on the standard, open global, GSM network of at&t is icing on the RIM cake.

Forgive my ignorance, but what exactly is a “vealot?” Is it some sort of slang term for “Verizon zealot?”

I have been putting off buying a blackberry waiting for verizon to get the curve. Is there anyway we will see it by the spring. I have been thinking of switching to At&t (even though service stinks) just to get the device. Verizon needs to open phones sooner.
