AT&T BlackBerry Bold May Make It’s Debut In September

September 15, 2008 by Robb Dunewood 1 Comment

So, the latest rumor about the AT&T BlackBerry Bold Launch is that it may actually make it out by the end of September. This is according to internal AT&T information gathered by BlackBerry News.

My guess is that AT&T is now in “get the Bold out as soon as possible” mode as they know die-hard BlackBerry users are more loyal to the BlackBerry than they are to AT&T’s network. The BlackBerry Storm and the BlackBerry Javelin will soon be available on other networks and AT&T probably doesn’t want to be in the position of trying to keep a BlackBerry subscriber based on the strength of their network over the coolness of the new device that is out.

I mentioned in an older post…RIM and ATT were in my office last week. They were doing the “Bold tour” with all their customers. The RIM guy said the Bold was still undergoing ATT Certification and expects it to be avail last week of Sept or 1st week of Oct. He had a Bold marked “Demonstration”. Said it was using the latest Beta of O/S. Bold was slick…but larger and heavier than my Curve. It is easier to type on than the 8800. keys seem to be larger than 8800, but I did not have an 8800 to compare.
