Adobe Confirms Flash 10.1 For BlackBerry, But, Still No Release Date

October 26, 2010 by Robb Dunewood 5 Comments

I don’t think that it was a big secret the Flash 10.1 is coming to the BlackBerry OS.  The fact that Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen said back in April that Flash 10.1 (for BlackBerry) would be out in the second half of this year was a pretty big hint.  We had hoped that we would get a an official release date of  Flash for BlackBerry, but, I guess that we will have to just make due with the fact that Adobe has officially stated that 10.1 is on the way.

I wonder if this means there will be Flash released for OS5, or are they already abandoning OS5 and only concerning their efforts with OS6.

My gut tells me that if you don’t run BlackBerry 6, at a minimum, you won’t be running Flash 10.1…

With all the technological advances in Blackberry, contact someone else who is willing to do the job that we as consumers are demanding with Flash 10.1. The later post about the Android seems to be a great alternative to this problem. However, running some of the Microsoft apps on Blackberry like the excel sheets exc. are a sure stopper but I am sure most have laptops to view this anyway. I’m not sure if the Android can quite hold a candle to that capability. The price on the other hand may be just enough to make me convert 80 a month for unlimited Android and 130 for BB.
