Facebook for BlackBerry v2.0 has been been available in BlackBerry Beta Zone for nearly a month, and, it looks like it is going to be released to all in BlackBerry App World sometime tomorrow, Tuesday, July 26th.

It’s no secret that Research in Motion is undergoing a reduction in staff. Company execs said they were going to ‘streamline operations by eliminating jobs and reallocating resources‘ back during the Q2 Fiscal 2012 earnings call. Reuters is reporting that RIM will cut about 2,000 jobs, or, 11% of its workforce and that severance payout is not included in 2nd quarter or full-year outlook.
A leaked Sprint End User Fulfillment Device Availability Report shows estimated launch dates of several next generation BlackBerry devices coming over the next couple of months. The touch BlackBerry Bold 9930 and the, yet to be officially announced, BlackBerry Torch 9850 both are slated to be released on August 21st. Just a few weeks later the BlackBerry Curve 9350, which, hasn’t been officially announced either, will be released September 9th.
Verizon has updated VZ Navigator for both the BlackBerry and the Android Platforms and they are offering a free 30-day trial for new users. The new VZ Navigator VX has been enhanced with 3D city driving and real highway signs and views.
The fact that Research in Motion hasn’t officially announced the BlackBerry 9810, 9850, or 9360 hasn’t stopped the company from soliciting BlackBerry 7 applications written specifically for those devices in BlackBerry App World. BlackBerry Travel, one of my favorite BlackBerry Apps and one that every BlackBerry user that ever flies on a plane should download and install, has been updated to version 220.127.116.11.
To the list of acquisitions Research in Motion has made recently, Sweden based online video editing and streaming service start-up JayCut, teams up with RIM.
The BlackBerry PlayBook offers users premium multimedia features, including dual HD cameras for video capture and video conferencing, HDMI output and high resolution video playback. By working with JayCut to add video editing capabilities to the BlackBerry platform we can further enrich our customers’ multimedia experience with BlackBerry.
It will be interesting to see what type of video capabilities JayCut brings to the BlackBerry PlayBook and how quickly they do so…

Several of Research in Motion’s BlackBerry instant messaging clients, Google Talk, Windows Live Messenger, and Yahoo! Messenger, have been updated to v2.5.84 and are available in BlackBerry App World.
Via a change log found in BlackBerry Desktop Software, a link to a beta build the Android App Player for BlackBerry PlayBook was found, and for several hours today, downloadable from the BlackBerry.com website. Research in Motion has since pulled the pre-release version of the Android App Player and has released this official statement.
