I know that there were some BlackBerry Addicts staning in line yesterday. Did you get an iPhone?

A Pinstack source is confirming that the BlackBerry 8320 will be hitting T-Mobile shelves sometime in September.
The Second Generation BlackBerry Curve will have 3.2 Megapixel or better camera, Wi-Fi, and won’t feel as cheaply made as it’s AT&T predecessor…
BlackBerry maker, Research in Motion, had a couple of big announcements today. They had a great Q1 for fiscal 2008 bringing in their first billion dollar quarter coming in at $1.082, 16.3 % over the previous quarter and 76.5% over Q1 fiscal 2007. RIM also announced a 3-for-1 stock split which will take place on August 20th.
RIM stock (RIMM) soared in after hours trading up over $18 reaching $184.17.
As I am sitting here listing to the Research in Motion investors call, my news reader pulled down a tidbit from Forbes.com. RIM’s board has approved a 3 for 1 stock split of its common stock which will be carried out as a dividend with shareholders getting two shares for each share that they own.
The split will take place on August 17th with the dividend being payable on August 20th, i.e., investors who own stock on 17th will receive 2 shares for every share of RIMM they own.
I fully admit that I got all caught up in the hype. I was all set to go, stand in line mind you, and buy an iPhone almost forgetting how much I actually dislike AT&T. The allure of the pre-paid phone plan broke down my defenses and got the better of me.
Here I was thinking that I could go out and buy an iPhone without having to sign up a contract to what I consider to be the one of, if not the, worst wireless carriers in the United States, buy using the iPhone pre-paid option that we talked about a month or so ago, however, low and behold, AT&T finds a way to disappoint yet again.
You wouldn’t believe what you have to do in order to utilize the iPhone pre-paid option…

There is no question that the BlackBerry has sat on top of the hill when it comes to PDA devices in the corporate world for some time now and for the last 10 months or so, RIM, has tried to gain a toe hold in the consumer market starting with the release of the BlackBerry Pearl late last summer. I believe, however, that the clock is ticking on Research in Motion’s consumer hopes.
The iPhone is coming and Apple isn’t pulling any punches…

We see free BlackBerry deals all the time on sites like Amazon, Wirefly, and the like , however, it isn’t everyday that we see free BlackBerry deals directly on carrier sites. Yesterday only, AT&T gave away free Red BlackBerry Pearls to anyone one who wanted one and signed up to a free contract via their site.
I wonder if they did this 3 days too early?
