What is Visto’s CEO smoking?

In a Business Week interview with Brian Bogosian, CEO of Visto, he was asked if he would like to put BlackBerry maker Research in Motion out of business and responded with “Absolutely.” That’s to be expected… RIM is Visto’s biggest competitor and who wouldn’t want to take out their biggest competitor?

What makes me think that this guy is completely nuts is that in addition to taking BlackBerry out, Bogosian expects to be the “Last Man Standing” in the mobile email game by the start of winter next year. That’s right, privately held Visto, with it’s $150 million in VC funding is going to take out the likes of Nokia, the biggest handset maker in the world, Microsoft, the biggest software company in the world, and RIM, the biggest mobile email provider in the world all within the next 18 months.

Helio Kickflip: Not a threat to BlackBerry, but, your kids will beg for one…

I know that this is not a BlackBerry, nor does it even compete with the BlackBerry, however, I have a feeling that unless Apple comes out with an new mobile called the iPhone, the Helio Kickflip will be the hottest mobile device to hit the 12 to 27 year old market this year.

BlackBerry 8702

Pinstack forum member Infinyte8 has a screen grab of the BlackBerry 8702 in the drop down menu of the “Report a problem with your service” section on Sprint’s Nextel portion of their site.

It is way too early in the morning to try to navigate the deeps of the Sprint site to verify this, however, Russell Shaw from BBHub thinks it is legit and that is good enough for me. If any RIMarkable readers are able to find a link to the “Report a Problem with your Service” page, please throw it up in the comments.
