Nextel BlackBerry 7100i Brochure

Russell Shaw from BBHub came accross a scan of a BlackBerry 7100i brochure from SprintNextel. I am not sure where he got it, but, I don’t think that we are supposed to see this yet.

BlackBerry Connect to Support New Nokia Eseries

Nokia is coming out with a new line of Eseries devices called the Nokia E60, Nokia E61, and the Nokia E70 that will all support BlackBerry Connect. The new units, just announced this morning, are built on the latest version of the Series 60 smartphone platform and will combine the power of 3G and WLAN with advance voice services and mobile email applications in variety of designs.

In addtion to BlackBerry Connnect, the Eseries devices will support Seven Mobile Mail, Seven Always-On Mail, Visto Mobile and Good Technologies GoodLink corporate mobile email platforms. The new devices will be available worldwide in Q1 next year.

Research in Motion Board approves stock buy back plan

Late afternoon Tuesday, the Research in Motion Board of Directors approved a stock buy back plan that will reclaim 9.5 million shares or about 5% of the total outstanding shares.

The Board of Directors of RIM believes that the proposed purchases are in the best interests of the Company and its shareholders and are a desirable use of corporate funds. All common shares purchased by RIM will be cancelled.

RIM officials say that the company currently has just over 191 million shares and the buyback of 9.5 million outstanding shares could start as early as Monday.
