RIM Not Announcing BlackBerry Tablet At Devcon Today

September 27, 2010 by Robb Dunewood 3 Comments

I initially heard on Squawk Box this morning that the BlackBerry Tablet may not be introduced at BlackBerry Devcon today, and, it would appear, that BGR has confirmed this.   According to BGR’s source, Mike Lazaridis will focus on the next generation tablet OS platform, however, won’t focus on any hardware.  “It would be unlikely for RIM to announce the mysterious tablet device during a developer event…”

It sounds like the QNX operating system that will power the BlackBerry Tablet is still a long way off and it hasn’t been confirmed that this OS will even be RIM’s next OS on BlackBerry smartphones.

So much for BGR’s source/connect. Man are they losing credibility. Once he sold, everything has turned to crap. One writer left, Andrew posts everything (poor grammar and all), Bet’s out sick, and BG MIA (re: shopping).

Yeah THAT couldn’t have been more wrong. Gotta agree too that BGR has lost touch since selling out. There’s NO news there any more…just rehash hours or days later that other BlackBerry sites have already reported.
