It seems like we have been posting a lot rumors coming from Engadget’s mobile insider and BlackBerry Forums supermoderator Boy Genius lately, however, his word is golden and he has yet another leak on an upcoming BlackBerry model.
Over on Engadgetmobile, the Boy Genius tells us that Research in Motion will most likely have another CameraBerry with a full QWERTY keyboard and WiFi by Christmas. Additionally the new device, which will be called the BlackBerry 8200, will have a faster processor, more RAM, and possibly even an updated camera as compared to the BlackBerry Pearl.
Boy Genius says that RIM is still testing out hardware configurations, however, the BlackBerry 8200 will be about the size of a Motorola Q and black seems to be the front runner as far as colors go.
All that I can say is, “Get us some pictures Boy. We are dying to see what it looks like”.
VZW PLEASEEEE!
Wow, even though I’ve just moved to Nokia E61 a couple of months ago this new BB may tempt me to change again!
Robb:
I think there is some confusion with what was actually reported on engadgetmobile.
The report tells of 2 new models:
1)One with WiFi, in an 8700 form factor, out by Christmas…
2)Another device, the 8200, which will be a QWERTY cameraberry about the size of a Q…no mention of release date…
So while I like your interpretation better, I am afraid we may have to wait a little longer to confirm if the 8200 will be out by Christmas….and live with the fact that this device will not have WiFi.
