Peter Rojas from Engadget asks the question, “Is Dell getting ready to rock it QWERTY-style with the next Axim?” It would make sense for them to. Dell has a strong offering in the Windows Mobile PDA market and one could imagine that their next line of PDAs would feature a keyboard and cellular connectivity.
It’s all about “Push” based wireless email made popular by the BlackBerry from Research in Motion. RIM currently dominates the market with over 6 million of the total 8 million estimated users. Some analysts think that the total market could be over 80 million users by 2008.
That kind of growth has some of the big device manufacturers such as HP and Dell watering at the mouth just at the thought of the entering this young “Pushed” based wireless email market hoping to take some of that share from Research in Motion.
