We’ve got some great news for BlackBerry users with Yahoo! email accounts. It appears that BIS 3.1 has been rolled out (here in the States). 2-Way Contact Synchronization is now available.
To enable Yahoo! Mail Contact Sync go to Setup… Email Settings… Click on your Yahoo! Mail account and select Synchronization Options… Check the box for Contacts and click Save.
BIS 3.1 syncs contacts every four hours and also works with Alt-N MDaemon v11 over SyncML. If you test it out, let us know what you think via the comments…

I tried to change it on my BIS page. It keeps resetting to the default (unable to sync with Yahoo). When I go to my device settings, it says it is still not available (9650 on Sprint, verion 5.0.0.621). What do I need to do to activate this? Has anyone had the same problem?
