Yahoo! Go 3.0 Beta Released: Still Doesn’t Work On My Verizon BlackBerry Pearl

So, it would appear that the beta of Yahoo! Go 3.0 has been released in concurrence with CES. It sounds like the there have been some really cool updates to the app like Mobile Widgets which are little applications designed to “deliver the ideal Internet experience for your phone.”

I, however, can’t tell if Yahoo Go 3.0 is really cool or not because, like Yahoo Go 2.0, I cannot install it on my BlackBerry 8130 from Verizon.

Hellno is right about some things. This is getting really old.

Robb, the reason it won’t work is because the 8130 is running 4.3 software. Yahoo has not made it compatible with 4.3 yet, this one has nothing to do with Verizon. You could always fire up your old 7130 to check it out…

Doesn’t work my Verizon 7130e either. My BB gets pointed to the 2.0 version when I tried.

I just check on Yahoo’s website http://mobile.yahoo.com/go/phones;_ylt=Aj.4vX4g686VG2AGGunyEyxltQcJ and neither the 7130 or 8130 are supported. However the 8830 is. Maybe it only works on 4.2 right now? Last I knew the 7130 was 4.1.

my verizon 8830 installed it no problem… it’s nothing special, just a prettier version of the old one… not impressed with it.

I actually found a link that let me download it to my 8130.

I used 2.0 on my Pearl when I was with TMO and it didn’t impress me. I uninstalled it. I’m sure 3.0 isn’t that much of an upgrade.

Messenger works great though on my VZW Pearl. The texts aren’t even being recorded on my VZW account. :)

If I remember correctly, 2.0 came out after the 8130. Seems to me like Yahoo should have updated their compatability list before coming out with 3.0…

These days I think Yahoo feels the need to push products out the door ASAP since Google is taking the lead on just about everything they cross paths on or compete for. I’m a Yahoo fan, but not too surprised.

I have the 8700g and I can neither get the text message sent to me when I input my number on their site nor get to their download site directly from my berry due to network problems. This has been going on since Monday.

Yahoo is slow with any upgrade they can finally get. I don’t think they should upgrade the Y! 2 go. Its pointless to have it because it works sometimes. They have a lot to debugg it.

I can’t get Yahoo Mobile 3.0 to install or even send the link via text to my cell. I have a ATT 8525 touch windows mobile 5. Wish I hadn’t un-installed Yahoo Mobile 2.0 now, as it did work.

I have the 8525 & upgraded from Ygo2.0 to 3.0. I got it through the setup section but can’t advance from there. Now I’m stuck. I feel like the previous guy. I wish I haven’t upgraded. :(

I installed Yahoo Go 3.0 about 3 weeks ago. It works… slowly, and for the most part. It tends to crash when downloading the first email in the yahoo inbox. Must be restarted, and sometimes gets through to the email, sometimes not. Overall, its a nice interface. Needs more tweaking and bug fixing.
