Will be receiving one on Monday. While I’ll be getting the Tour, I’m getting this one as well. I always loved the Pearl, like SureType, and the bigger keys. I’ll eventually be putting up reviews on my new site once launched. Looking forward to playing with it.

Any one know if this has the crippled GPS locked to BB Maps and VZ Nav only?

GrantL,

Why would verizon not cripple the GPS on the Pearl Flip? verizon cripples all their phones as it’s tough to keep it’s subscribers within it’s walled garden.

@The Rock,

Historically I wouldn’t even bother to ask, but it seems like Verizon has somewhat shifted their strategy on GPS crippling. The half-hearted unlock on the Curve and Pearl (just BBMaps), the full unlock on Storm. Many other non-BB smartphones they are launching are getting the fully unlocked treatment as well. Just trying to see if there is any logic or pattern to what they are doing. Perhaps that’s asking too much of a company like VZW.
