As we pointed out earlier, not all BlackBerry 8800 devices look alike and according to BlackBerry Forums member muellerlinger, they won’t all be called Indigo either.
The all black BlackBerry 8800 on the left in the picture above is called the BlackBerry Indigo and may hit Europe as earlier as December. The other two… the black on silver device from T-Mobile and the all grey device from Vodafone… are called Crimson and won’t hit shelves until late Q2 of next year.

It seems to me that if RIM goes with different names, they will probably stick with their convention of slightly different model number designations that are carrier specific…
