After months of speculation, rumors, and conflicting feelings, the BlackBerry 8800 has been officially announced today at the 3GSM Conference in Barcelona.

It looks really good and if I had an older model BlackBerry (pre 7130) on Cingular I would probably upgrade. GPS, W-Fi, and a memory slot aren’t enough to make me leave Verizon, or even move from a newer BlackBerry like the 8700 if I were already on Cingular.

I sure hope that when Verizon comes out with their version it has a digital camera in it.

The features say nothing about Wifi, I don’t think it is supported in this model. Where did you get that publicity shot?

It’s no doubt a great looking phone, but no camera or 3G are a little tough to make me choose it over the BlackJack. Although I still may. However, the integrated GPS is a huge bonus for those of us on the road. That may be the clincher…

Your right. In the specs for the BlackBerry 8800, Wi-Fi, is not mentioned. I just assumed based on the Wi-Fi logo in the picture.

Here is the Rogers pic, without the Wifi logo.. Somebody get one and dig into the stack to see if they are crippling it, and that shot slipped out by accident.
