Via the WordPress for BlackBerry Developer Blog, WordPress has announced that WordPress for BlackBerry 1.4.6 Beta is now available for download. This beta is primarily a security update and, thus, you won’t see any new functionality, however, WordPress for BlackBerry 1.4.6 beta sports a completely different, strongly encrypted storage model.
WordPress for BlackBerry 1.4.6 Beta features include:
Improved the communication layer.
You can now select which type of the Media API that should be used for uploading photos and videos.
Fix for VideoPress issue when uploading multiple videos #181.
Fix for app permission issues that could freeze the app if all permissions are not set to Allow #179.
Fix for postID that are bigger than the XML-RPC specification #180.
Improved the XML-RPC calls.
Improved the preview screen, which is now using the BlackBerry browser or any browser installed on your device.
Fix for post/page comments setting that allow people to post comments on new articles created using the app #163.

Screaming Toaster has just released Wicked WordPress App For BlackBerry. As the name implies, Wicked is a WordPress editor for the BlackBerry that actually compares very well to the Official WordPress App for BlackBerry.
Truth be told, Wicked is probably better than is WordPress for BlackBerry at this point, which is still in beta. The problem, however, for Wicked is that it costs $30 per year to use compared to WordPress for BlackBerry being a free BlackBerry download.
Wicked WordPress App for BlackBerry does offer a 14-day free trial and you can find more information about the here.
We have been waitng for an official WordPress for BlackBerry application for what seems like an eternity, however, not too long after Automattic, the company behind WordPress, announced that there would be a WordPress for BlackBerry application, we have a beta that is publicly available for download.
I’ve just installed WordPress for BlackBerry on my Storm and, although I haven’t had the chances to completely put it through the paces, I’ve got to admit that it is pretty good for beta. I was able add a blog and create a new post with a picture pretty easily. The app is still a little rough around the edges, but, you can definitely see the potential and I can’t wait until the production release comes out.
If you own a BlackBerry and run a WordPress Blog, WordPress for BlackBerry is definitely one app you will want to keep an eye on.
