We first heard about Kompass for Basecamp, a universal Basecamp portal for BlackBerry, back in June of 2009, when the application entered one of the longest private betas that I’ve ever heard of. 18 months later, Kompass for Basecamp is out of private beta and has moved into an open and free public beta.
Basecamp is an online, cloud based project collaboration application with over 5 million users worldwide. You can think of it like Microsoft Project with Sharepoint like functionality that you can access through the web, and, now via your BlackBerry with Kompass for Basecamp beta.
Head over to the Kompass for Basecamp website where you can sign up for an account and download the beta client for BlackBerry.

We just heard that Bryte Software is working on a Basecamp client for the BlackBerry, iPhone, Android, and Windows Mobile called Kompass for Basecamp and that they are accepting Beta testers.
