Ace BlackBerry Theme

Elecite.com has a new BlackBerry theme out that I’m toying around with on my BlackBerry Storm.  It is called Ace, and, I have to admit that it is pretty slick.

Ace has that app card (iTunes)  look and feel to it with 5-6 customizable icons at the top which you can access via the “custom” button as well as 4 (locked) quick access icons for your Profiles, Weather, Facebook and clock.  In addition, Ace has a dedicated weather Icon, 10-11 (locked) quick access app card icons and a Today style preview area so you don’t have to open your messages and calendar apps to see what’s inside.

Ace costs $6.99 and you see more screen shots of it over on Elecite.com

Elecite BlackBerry Theme: SolarElecite has just released a new premium BlackBerry Theme for the BlackBerry Storm, Bold, and Curve 8900 called Solar.  Solar is the first BlackBerry theme from Elecite to support WeatherBug integration.  It is a very nice, simple, and easy to use theme with 7-8 customizable icons and 3 hidden today inputs (Storm only).

Solar will set you back $6.99 and you can pick it up here over on Elecite.com

Everyone is talking about this really cool new theme from Bplay called Crossbar that kind of “raises the bar” as far as BlackBerry themes go. Crossbar is an animated theme that, instead of scrolling the cursor from icon to icon, scrolls the first 7 applications and 3 Today icons across the screen.

The Theme is only $6.99, so, I decided to buy it and give it the once over. The way Crossbar scrolls icons is pretty cool. I’d be willing to bet that other theme developers will try this effect in their themes.

Gemblock is holding a custom BlackBerry theme competition where a $100 prize will go to the BlackBerry theme builder who submits the best original BlackBerry theme.

Votes will be based off of:

  • Originality
  • Design
  • Simplicity
  • Functionality
  • Readability

All submitted themes must work on either the BlackBerry Pearl, BlackBerry Curve, BlackBerry 8800, or BlackBerry 8700 series devices.

Voting starts on January 1st, so, if you are interested you have a little over a month to work on your theme.
