How To Listen To A Podcast On Your BlackBerry

A question that we get regularly here on RIMarkable.com is “How do you listen to a podcast on your BlackBerry?”

If you have a relatively new BlackBerry, one capable of running BlackBerry 6 or higher, the easiest way, arguably, is with the native BlackBerry Podcasts app.

Chances are your device already has BlackBerry Podcasts installed, but, if you don’t, you can download it OTA, or, pick it up in BlackBerry App World.

To listen to a podcast, all you have to do is:

Open up the Podcasts App
Click on “Add Podcast Channel”
Enter the URL of the podcast feed (ex. SMRpodcast.com/showfeed)
Click Subscribe

The latest episode of the podcast should download to your device.

BlackBerry Podcasts App Updated To Version 1.0.0.48

The BlackBerry Podcasts app has been updated to version 1.0.0.48. BlackBerry Podcasts is the official podcast application from Research in Motion and is a free download in BlackBerry App World. There is no change log to tell you what is new and /or updated in BlackBerry podcasts, so, if you notice anything new, be sure to come back and leave us a comment.

BlackBerry Podcasts, which has been available to BlackBerry Beta Zone users for quite some time, has been officially released is is now available to all in BlackBerry App World. I have to be honest, I am not terribly impressed with the BlackBerry Podcasts app, however, it is free and it can only get better from here. For me, BlackBerry Podcasts won’t be replacing PodTrapper any time soon.

You can download BlackBerry Podcasts directly from BlackBerry App World, and, if you do, be sure to download the Simple Mobile Review Podcast.

To download the SMRpodcast in BlackBerry Podcasts, click on “Add Podcast Channel” and type in the SMRpodcast feed URL, http://feeds.feedburner.com/simplemobilereviewpodcast.
