Coming on the heels of the release of the Rogers BlackBerry Bold 9700, Rogers has cut the prices of the orginal BlackBerry Bold, the BlackBerry Curve 8900, and the BlackBerry Curve 8520. The prices for each are $99.99, $79.99, and $49.99 respectively. A three-year contract is required.

There is a new premium BlackBerry theme out from Elecite for the the BlackBerry Bold, Storm, and Curve 8900 that looks pretty slick. It is called Analog and features a 45 degree sliding dock with 8 customizable icons. Check out a few of the screen shots…
Analog only cost $6.99 and you can purchase it here…
We heard a rumor a week and a half ago that AT&T was going to cut the price of the BlackBerry Bold. It would appear, however, that AT&T not only cut the price of the Bold down to $199 after a $100 mail-in rebate. The price of the BlackBerry Curve 8900 has also been reduced, now only $149.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate.
This probably won’t make all those folks who bought a Curve 8900 over the passed two weeks all that happy…

If you really want to get a good deal on a BlackBerry Curve 8900, bot Amazon and Newegg are offering them for $49.99…
So, if you said that you were going to wait for the price on the AT&T BlackBerry Curve to drop a little before you picked one up, you didn’t have to wait as long as you might have thought you would. Both Amazon and Newegg.com are offering the AT&T BlackBerry Curve 8900 to new AT&T subscribers signing up to a two year contract for $49.99 after an instant rebate.
The Curve 8900 was just released on AT&T’s site last Thursday for $199 after a $100 mail-in rebate. The fact that you can get it for $49 just less than 5 days later may upset a few early birds, but, is one heck of a deal to say the least.

With all of the leaked BlackBerry OS updates for the BlackBerry Storm and BlackBerry Bold BlackBerry Curve 8900 users were feeling a bit left out in the cold. Well, that all ended yesterday when BlackBery OS 4.6.1.199 leaked.
We’re not quite sure what all 4.6.1.199 does, so, if you decide to give it a go, drop us a comment and let us know how it goes. Remember, BlackBerry OS 4.6.1.199 for the BlackBerry Curve 8900 is not an officially releaed OS. Make sure you know what you are doing if you decided to try it out.

Over this passed weekend I got my first opportunity to really sit down and play with the BlackBerry Curve 8900 from T-Mobile. I can honestly tell you that I believe that it is the best BlackBerry to come out of RIM in terms of form factor on a full QWERTY device.
I’ve been partial to SureType BlackBerry devices ever since the BlackBerry 7100T came several several years ago primarily because of their small size. The BlackBerry Curve 8900 feels only slightly larger than the BlackBerry Pearl and sports a full keyboard.
Once you get passed the form factor, the 8900 has GPS, a better camera, and a better screen as compared to the old BlackBerry Curve, however, the question i kept asking myself was does the BlackBerry Curve 8900 have enough to make me shell out the cash for it if I already have a BlackBerry Curve 83xx?
Now, I would imagine that GPS, a 3.2 megapixel camera, and a better screen, along with an awesome form factor are enough to make a lot of people upgrade. I would also gather that for many people, it’s not enough to make you shell out 200 bucks and sign up to another 2-year plan.
What side of the fence do you sit on?

Om Malik, 15 year technology writing verteran, former senior writer at Business 2.0, and founder of the GigaOm network, has decided to drop his iPhone for the T-Mobile BlackBerry Curve 8900.
Om’s move to the BlackBerry Curve 8900, wasn’t because of a failing of the iPhone itself, but, because of a failing of the network that the iPhone runs on.

T-Mobile has officially launched the BlackBerry Curve 8900 and it is available on their site. The Curve 8900 will set you back $199 after a $100 mail-in rebate. My first thought… It is way too expensive.
