Research in Motion recently sent out media invitations for the BlackBerry 10 Launch event being held in New York City on January 30th.

To say that BlackBerry 10 is RIM’s last, best chance to remain an independent player in the the today’s smartphone industry currently dominated by Android and the iPhone is a bit of an understatement.

There is, however, no shortage of rumors which indicate that BlackBerry 10 is absolutely a rock solid mobile operating system and several use adjectives like “ground breaking” when describing its features…

Waterloo, ON – Research In Motion (RIM) (NASDAQ: RIMM; TSX: RIM) announced today that it will hold its BlackBerry® 10 launch event on January 30^th, 2013. The event will happen simultaneously in multiple countries around the world. This day will mark the official launch of its new platform – BlackBerry 10, as well as the unveiling of the first two BlackBerry 10 smartphones. Details on the smartphones and their availability will be announced at the event.
