AT&T BlackBerry Bold 9900

After much too long a wait, the BlackBerry Bold 9900 is finally available on AT&T.  There has been no ‘official‘ word on why it has taken AT&T so long to release the Bold 9900 which has been very popular on on T-Mobile as well as the Bold 9930 variant on Sprint and Verizon, however, we believe it is because AT&T wanted to sell as many BlackBerry Torch 9810 devices, which are exclusive to AT&T, as possible.

The AT&T BlackBerry Bold 9900 will set you back $199.99 on a 2-year contract with a minimum data plan of $15 per month.  You can pick up the AT&T BlackBerry Bold, of course, from AT&T, and, we’ve also seen it at Best Buy.

AT&T Tweets BlackBerry Bold 9900 coming soon!

AT&T tweeted earlier today that the BlackBerry Bold 9900 is coming soon.  AT&T hasn’t stated why it has taken so long for the nation’s largest GSM network to get the Bold 9900, however, we believe AT&T held back the 9900 in an effort to sell as many BlackBerry Torch 9810 devices, which are exclusive to AT&T, as possible.

Post image for BlackBerry Bridge Now Available To AT&T Subscribers

AT&T decided yesterday to allow their customers to ‘officially’ download BlackBerry Bridge via BlackBerry App World. The general consensus as to why AT&T held up BlackBerry Bridge for as long as they did was that they didn’t like the fact that BlackBerry Bridge allows you to browse the Internet on your BlackBerry PlayBook for free via your BlackBerry handset’s 3G broadband connection when Wi-Fi is not available.

Although BlackBerry Bridge is a free application, AT&T confirmed that they held up the software for their subscribers until they could figure out a way to charge customers for browsing the internet via Bridge Browser, as it requires a tethering plan in addition to a wireless service plan if you are an AT&T customer.
