T-Mobile has a new BlackBerry model on the loose… BlackBerry 8705g

Well, it looks like T-Mobile has added a new BlackBerry to their line-up. The new device is called the BlackBerry 8705g. It looks exactly like that BlackBerry 8700g from what we can tell.

The features on the BlackBerry 8705g appear to be the same as on the 8700g as well. I think that the support for M3 and T3 hearing aids may be new.

T-Mobile has a history of releasing new BlackBerry devices that are almost identical to existing models. Remember the BlackBerry 7100t, followed up with the BlackBerry 7105t? I didn’t really understand that one either.

In any light, I would expect to see a bunch of really cheap, if not free BlackBerry 8700g offers coming up soon as we enter the holiday season.

I just found this tidbit… The BlackBerry 8705g cannot be used with a Bluetooth headset.

Maybe we won’t see the really cheap BlackBerry 8700g deals as soon as I thought…

The BlackBerry 8705g won’t be a generally available device as it is meant to be used with hearing aids and in environment where Bluetooth is absolutely forbidden even when turned off with a profile.

Are you sure it can’t be used with a bluetooth headset? It says so on the advertising spot:

http://www.blackberry.com/products/blackberry8700/blackberry8705g.shtml

It mentions it being able to tether as a modem, too. I need more proof, because there’s two conflicting messages here.

Aaron,

I am in the boat with you. One PDF says no Bluetooth, the other says it does have it. It is very confusing. Since the website says that there will be Bluetooth, I am going to go with that.
