by Robb Dunewood on February 11, 2009 · 2 comments

Research in Motion today announced that BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5, code name Argon, will be released in Q2 this year at an event in New York City.

One of the big new features in BES 5 is Over-The-Air (OTA) updates.  BES 5 will also have built-in high availability and can scale to deployments of hundreds of thousands of devices and the new web based Blackberry Administration Service.

BES 5 has been tested for over two years and, according to Alan Panezic, VP of software product management at RIM, will be the “easiest” BES upgrade to date.
