I love my BlackBerry 7130e

Verizon BlackBerry 7130e

I must say that my BlackBerry 7130e is probably the sweetest cell phone/ PDA that I have ever had. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles that some of these Windows Mobile devices that are borderline “Tricorder from Star Trek”-like as far as the number of things it can do, however, for the things that it does do, it is absolutely wonderful.

Lets count some of the reasons I love it in no particular order…

  1. It’s small enough to fit into your pocket like a regular cellphone. I have never been a big fan of the belt clip holsters.
  2. It doesn’t look like you are talking into a stereo remote control when you hold it to your ear.
  3. I get my email on it.
  4. I can blog from it.
  5. It can use it as a Broadband modem for my laptop, i.e., I can play World of WarCraft while delayed at airport which seems to be more and more these days.

The BlackBerry 7130e is just a cool device and I am really liking it right now. I will say, however, that if RIM comes out with a BlackBerry with a camera and an MP3 player I will switch to it in a heartbeat. In fact I volunteer right now to be a beta tester and I will drum up interest in it like you wouldn’t believe.

I digress. I love my BlackBerry 7130e.

How does one signup for the BlackBerry tethering data plan? I can’t find any information about that feature on verizonwireless.com.

I totally agree with the email and blogging aspects. Those are key and I can’t tell you how I lived without them previously. As for the phone not ‘looking like a stereo remote’…Well, let’s just say, I’ve gotten the “Hey, is that a garage door opener you’ve got there?”…Yeah. I don’t mind the size, but with regular cells these days..But they can’t do 1/10th of what I can do with my 7100.

How good does it actually work, when using it as a braodband modem with your laptop.
