I just downloaded Buzzd, a location based city guide and social network to my BlackBerry Storm, and am giving it the once over…

It’s kind of cool, but, doens’t appear to have GPS support and I will probabaly uninstall it soon…

If you want to check Buzzd out for yourself, head over to http://www.buzzd.com.

Hey Rob -

buzzd does not use GPS. It uses cell-ID location, a alternative technology that hurts less on the devices battery & is more accurate in crowded areas like bars, events & restaurants. I’d say give buzzd another try

I actually have had Buzzd for a little while and it’s a lot fun. It’s the facebook for dining and clubbing and whatever is popping without the bumper stickers and so forth.

You can have a little profile and friend people, but the point is that someone will be at a spot somewhere in new york and say this place is great, come check it out, and other people in the network and friends will get word of that, like a mass e-mail.

a more user and organic version of zagat or city search so it’s a lot of fun to find out what’s going on a saturday night, like a n unknown jazz club or a concert or real real good gyros
