Popular cross platform mobile IM client PingChat! has been renamed to Touch and updated to include a lot more social features.
PingChat! has over 13 million users that will be upgraded to Touch which offers cross platform support to Android, BlackBerry, and iPhone users. There currently isn’t any support for Windows Phone planned, but, Enflick, the company behind Touch will keep a close eye on demand for other platforms.

Google announced this morning that it is ending support for the Gmail App for BlackBerry on November 22nd and will continue to focus their efforts on the mobile browser based version of Gmail.
Although I am sure that some BlackBerry user somewhere will be miffed about this, I really don’t see this as being all that big of a deal. It’s been over three years since we’ve last mentioned Gmail App for BlackBerry here on RIMarkable and can’t think of any BlackBerry users that still use it.
Research in Motion’s streaming music app, BBM Music, is out of beta and now officially available in BlackBerry App World. BBM Music is a subscription based music service that allows you to add 50 songs from its extensive library of music to your profile. You can also access 50 songs from your BBM contact’s music profiles.
BBM Music will set you back $4.99 per month, however, there is a Free Premium Trial that will give you up to 2 months* free in US and Canada, and one month free in Australia. There is also a free subscription to BBM Music, however, it only offers 30 second clips of songs. The free subscription can be upgraded at any time.
AccuWeather for BlackBerry, arguably the best free weather application for the BlackBerry, has been updated to version 1.3 and now supports BlackBerry 7 devices. You can pick up AccuWeather for BlackBerry v1.3 in BlackBerry App World.
